Website Address Books
Address Books allow individuals and businesses to store and access contact information online.
Common Types of Address Books
There are three types of address books: The Personal Address Book, the Global Address Book and the Collaborative Address Book.
A Personal Address Book is a private address book used to store personal contact information. This address book is ideal if you wish to store all your contact information online so you can access to it from wherever you are.
A Global Address Book is used to store contact information that you wish to be available to anyone whom you allow access to the address book from your web site. The Global Address Book is ideal for displaying public information such as office locations, contact information, or for corporate wide addresses at small companies.
A Collaborative Address Book allows many users to share contact information. This address book can be used to store personal (private) contact information, as well as contact information that is valuable to the user's collaboration network. For example, in a small business setting, a user can store his friends contact information and mark it as private so other members of the network cannot see it, while business and client addresses can be shared and viewed by others.
